Children's Weekend Workshop (5-12 years old)

Dear Parent/Student,

Hello everyone! It is our pleasure to introduce ourselves and the amazing sport of fencing.

Join our fun but intensive beginner's/intermediate fencing course. No experience needed - just a whole lot of energy and enthusiasm! Get fit & learn the solid foundation of fencing - posture, positions, footwork plus the added benefits of strength conditioning routines.

Details: Plastic or steam/metal fencing. Depending on skill level, the students will be kitted up with the appropriate equipment.

All children ages 5 to 12 years old are welcome. No prior experience required. Children with less than 1 year's worth of fencing experience are also welcome.

ABOUT FENCING: Diamond Blade Fencing Club offers a fun and unique experience for children who would like to learn and enjoy the beautiful sport and art of fencing. Fencing is a very broad discipline and we make it a priority to teach our students KEY LIFE SKILLS and that includes training their MINDS & BODIES to work together. While methodically learning the foundation techniques, our students learn to think and move fast simultaneously. This allows a fencer to develop a good memory as well as patience and perseverance.

We believe in nurturing a strong sense of  individuality and self-reliance in every one of our students as well as fostering team spirit in group-based sessions. We stress the importance of playing fair and exhibiting sportsmanlike behaviour.

SOME BENEFITS OF FENCING: FOCUS • CONFIDENCE • CONCENTRATION • ATHLETICISM • BALANCE • COORDINATION • DEXTERITY • MENTAL STRENGTH • SPORTSMANSHIP
