Nuno Koch Esteves Senior Coach

Nuno Koch Esteves loved fencing since he first picked up a sword at age of 11. Nuno was unter the tutelage of various well-respected international coaches including Peter Kolloch, Herman du Preez, Ian Williams and Rafael Lopez, and as such, is adept to a variety of coaching styles. Nuno was a regular member of the Portuguese National Team and has competed in various European and World Cadet, Junior and Senior World Cups/Championships.

Moreover, Nuno is a passionate sport scientist who underwent his BSc and MSc degrees at Brunel University London, and is currently undergoing a PhD in cardiovascular physiology. As such, he is interested in the physiological profiles of high performing athletes, and has experience in developing and monitoring athlete training plans. He is committed to finding new and creative methods to best aid athlete progress and more importantly, keep the training sessions fun and engaging for fencers and athletes of all ages and abilities.
Accomplishments: Portuguese Senior National Champion in 2014, Portuguese Senior National Team Champion with AEJG in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, Spanish La Liga Team Champion with CEM in 2016, and Silver medalist at the British Team National Championships with Camden Fencing Club in 2019.
