Yvonne Chart spent most of her fencing career in Truro, Cornwall before earning a highly coveted scholarship to Northwestern University in Chicago, USA. As a youth fencer, Yvonne won the U17 and U18 National Championships in consecutive years (2013, 2014), before qualifying to represent England at the 2014 Commonwealth Championships, where the team earned a bronze medal.

Once at university, she won her first international medal, a bronze at the Guatemala City Junior World Cup. She also was a two-time All-American honouree and received the 2019 Big Ten Medal of Honour for excellence in athletics and academics. Yvonne started coaching at her club in Cornwall and continued while at university. She enjoys helping others to develop their passion for the sport, while also teaching discipline and dedication.
